The new Science Laboratory opened in 1960. With help from the P&F at the annual School Fete five hundred pounds was raised towards it. Donations of equipment and furniture was generously made by parents.
The Science Laboratory was housed in an old garage that had been converted into two classrooms for physics and chemistry.
Mrs Marie Potts was the first science teacher. She instigated the first science, physics programme at St Aidan’s.
